As the fall season settles in, one of the most beautiful and meaningful Holy days for me approaches.... the Feast of Tabernacles (also called Sukkot) . This holy day is more than a celebration; it’s a reminder of God’s provision, His presence, and His promise to dwell with His people. You see, this how I know the The Most High is black! He gave us a reason to celebrate every season and in doing so we come together for week longs BBQs celebrations etc. Like a big family reunion a few times a year!!! But that's another conversation for another day! Anyhows!!!

The Feast of Tabernacles is a week-long festival that God commanded His people to keep as a memorial of their journey through the wilderness after leaving Egypt. During that time, Israel lived in temporary shelters, relying fully on God for food, water, and guidance. This feast teaches us to trust in Him, not in material things, and to rejoice in His goodness.
It is also a time to celebrate the harvest season, when we give thanks to God for the blessings of the land and the fruit of our labor. Spiritually, it reminds us that we also reap what we have sown in our walk with Him. The Feast of Tabernacles points to both physical abundance and spiritual harvest—a season of joy and thanksgiving.
📖 Scripture References:
“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days.” — Leviticus 23:34
“Celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the produce of your threshing floor and your winepress. Be joyful at your festival—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites, the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns.” — Deuteronomy 16:13–14
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count… standing before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.” — Revelation 7:9
For me and my family, this feast is a time of rejoicing, family gatherings, and reflection. It reminds us that life on this earth is temporary, and we are looking forward to the time when God Himself will tabernacle with us forever (Revelation 21:3).
The Feast of Tabernacles is called a “season of joy” because it celebrates God’s blessings, harvest, and the hope of His Kingdom. It’s about letting go of worries and stepping fully into His presence with thanksgiving.
As we keep this feast, we celebrate not just what God has done in the past, but also what He promises for the future—His Kingdom on earth, where peace, love, and justice will reign.
✨ This year, may the Feast of Tabernacles remind us all to dwell with God daily, rejoice in His provision, and look forward with hope to His eternal Kingdom.
Peace Love and Light,
